Corporate Social Responsibility Reporters, otherwise known as CSR Reporters, Africa’s premier platform for CSR, Sustainability, philanthropy, Humanitarian and Non-Profit news has revealed its plans to impact over 20,000 Indigent young girls in 2023. The initiative tagged, ‘Touch A Queen Initiative’ (TAQ) is the ‘give back to the society’ projects of the news platform.
Among other things, the aim, according to the publisher, Eche Munonye is to provide sanitary pads to girls as a way of creating awareness and self-esteem regarding menstrual hygiene practices. To this end, the media house has started a monthly donate a part initiative aimed at encouraging interested individuals and organizations to donate their widow’s mite in helping to alleviate the sufferings of indigent young girls who find it difficult to purchase their monthly sanitary towel.
The initiative is dedicated to promoting the freedom and awareness of girls, promoting their education and rights through capacity building and awareness creation.
The initiative also focuses on “Adolescent Reproductive Health & Rights and the education for vulnerable girls. We empower and promote girl child education and provide skill support and mentorship to young indigent girls”.
Eche Munonye, revealed that the project is primarily targeted at lifting 20,000 young girls in 2023.
“Touch A Queen is further aimed at creating community awareness and sustaining the interest of community members in girl child education. To also be able to build the confidence of girls to have a focus on pursuing education and empower them to be responsible members of society”
He noted that since TAQ kicked off in 2022, the project has been able to impact so many girls in Lagos. In his words, ‘in just 2022, 3,500 young girls were reached and the the target is to be able to touch 20,000 girls in 2023.
He urged organizations and other well-meaning individuals to join hands with CSR Reporters to ensure no girl child is left on the street without education.
