MTN Nigeria is turning airtime into life-changing moments as more than 1,500 customers have collectively won over ₦290 million in its ongoing Mega Billion Promo. Launched on June 23, the 90-day nationwide campaign has rapidly gained traction, offering daily and weekly cash rewards that range from ₦25,000 to a staggering ₦10 million.
Speaking during a recent media briefing in Lagos, Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, MTN Nigeria’s Chief Marketing Officer, said the promo is part of the company’s response to the economic challenges facing many Nigerians. “We understand that times have been hard, and this initiative is one way we are giving back, supporting our customers, and making life a little better,” she said.
So far, the campaign has produced a wave of winners, including three ₦10 million jackpot recipients, twenty ₦5 million winners, and over a hundred people who have claimed ₦100,000 or more. One such jackpot winner, Femi Yusuf, expressed shock and joy during a live call, while another recipient, Motunrayo, was brought to tears after hearing she’d won ₦2 million.
Debo Agun, Senior Manager, Consumer Segment (Mass Market), explained that participation is entirely free—customers only need to dial *900# to opt in. Each ₦100 recharge earns one entry, and the more you recharge, the more chances you have to win. He emphasized the transparency of the process, which includes live draws streamed on social media and the use of verified MTN contact lines (300) to reach winners.
All winnings are paid directly into MoMo wallets, MTN’s mobile money platform, which users can activate by dialing *671#. Participants are also eligible for multiple wins throughout the campaign.
Agun noted, “What sets this promo apart is its accessibility and fairness. You don’t need to buy anything extra or pay hidden fees. Just recharge, opt in, and you’re in the running.”
As the promo continues, MTN says there’s still a lot more to give away. The campaign not only rewards loyalty but also reinforces MTN’s commitment to uplifting its customers during uncertain times.
