Young people in Lagos with ideas for tackling climate and environmental challenges can now seek funding through the Lagos Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF), which is offering microgrants of between $1,000 and $5,000 for youth-led climate action projects.
The initiative, supported by the Lagos State Government in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, is designed to give young people the financial support needed to develop and implement practical solutions that can contribute to a greener, cleaner and more climate resilient Lagos.
The fund presents an opportunity for young people already working on environmental initiatives, as well as youth groups with ideas that could address some of Lagos’ pressing climate challenges.
Who Can Apply for the Youth Climate Action Fund?
The opportunity is targeted at youth groups made up of individuals between the ages of 15 and 24.
Eligible groups are expected to develop projects focused on climate action and environmental challenges affecting communities across Lagos State.
The organisers are particularly calling for innovative, youth-led ideas that can contribute to building a more sustainable and resilient city.
