Popular human right activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, has rescued a minor locked up in a toilet by aunty in Delta State.
The video which has been going viral since yesterday saw a young girl named Blessing claimed she has always been locked up inside the toilet by her aunt.
Harrison shared the disturbing development on Facebook with a video capturing the moment he visited the place to interact with the girl via the toilet window.
It was gathered that the minor was locked in the toilet without food or water and was allegedly told by her aunt to drink the toilet water when thirsty.
While revealing that the incident happened in Ogwashi Uku in Delta, Harrison said that concerned neighbours contacted a journalist, who reached out to him to intervene.
When asked if her aunt’s husband was aware, she told her rescuers that her aunt’s husband was also aware.
““I am here in Ogwashi Uku for a young girl that cried out from a toilet window. Concerned neighbours reached out to a journalist and I was contacted to intervene. From findings, she was locked inside by her aunt without food and water ‘When you are tasty, drink from the WC,’ her aunt told her. If you are within Ogwashi Uku and wish to join me for this intervention, please find your way to Aunty Bose School by Kwale Junction. The woman’s house is opposite the school. I have also filed a police complain.”
Captioning his Facebook post, Harrison, the Labour Party Candidate for Aniocha South Constituency in Delta state, said he has filed a police complaint and urged people residing in the area to join him in the intervention move.
He added that with the swift intervention from the Nigeria Police Ogwashi-Uku and the head DSS, Aniocha South, he and his team were able to gain entry into the apartment of Blessing.
