The Joint Innovation Facility (JIF) 2026 is a groundbreaking initiative by the Africa-Europe Digital Innovation Bridge (AEDIB) that offers non-dilutive funding of up to €200,000 to support African-led consortia in developing and scaling climate-positive digital solutions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- African lead partners must be based in one of 14 priority countries: Benin, DR Congo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia
- European partners must be located in an EU Member State
- Consortia must include at least two partners collaborating across borders
- Projects must demonstrate commercial viability, scalability, and measurable climate impact.
- Solutions must leverage digital technologies, such as AI, data platforms, and technology-enabled services.
Funding and Support:
- Non-dilutive grants of €100,000 or €200,000.
- Milestone-based funding structure.
- Capacity support through the JIF Venture Studio.
- Expert mentorship and technical advisory services.
- Investment readiness preparation and cross-border peer learning.
