Applications are now open for the WomenPower2030 Seed Grant 2026, an opportunity designed to strengthen women-led and women’s rights organisations in Nigeria and Sierra Leone through financial support for innovative, community-focused projects.
The seed grant, funded under the WomenPower2030: Feminist Accelerate Actions for Sustainable Development project and implemented by the Women Environmental Programme (WEP), aims to empower organisations working at the intersection of gender equality, climate action and sustainable development.
Successful applicants will receive up to €5,000 in funding to implement projects over a period of three to six months. The programme seeks to support initiatives that not only address immediate community challenges but also contribute to long-term systemic change by strengthening women’s leadership and participation in decision-making.
The WomenPower2030 initiative recognises that women and girls are disproportionately affected by climate change, environmental degradation and social inequalities. Through this grant, organisers hope to amplify the voices of women-led organisations and provide them with the resources needed to drive sustainable solutions within their communities.
Areas of Focus
Applicants are expected to propose projects that align with one or more of the programme’s priority areas, including:

- Community mobilisation and movement building
- Monitoring and accountability for sustainable development commitments
- Promotion and localisation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
