Pitch Perfect Africa 2026 Opens Applications for Eligible Health Ventures, Offers CAD $5,000 Grants
admin Applications have opened for Pitch Perfect Africa 2026, a health innovation pitch competition offering three early-stage African ventures the opportunity to receive CAD $5,000 each to advance their solutions to healthcare challenges.
The competition is designed to support entrepreneurs developing innovative health solutions while helping them improve their pitching, market research and investment-readiness skills.
Now in its second year, Pitch Perfect Africa is part of the Health Innovation Initiative (H2i) venture development program and will select six eligible ventures to pitch their innovations to a panel of expert judges.
The competition is open to current H2i Level 2 ventures that meet the program’s eligibility requirements.
Three Ventures to Receive CAD $5,000 Each
Three ventures selected as winners will each receive a CAD $5,000 Innovation Fellowship.
Beyond the funding, the program is designed to give participating founders practical support as they prepare to develop and present their businesses to potential investors and other stakeholders within the health innovation ecosystem.
Participants will pitch their ventures before a panel of expert judges, giving founders an opportunity to communicate their business models, solutions and potential impact in a competitive setting.
The selected participants will also take part in a Building a Winning Pitch Masterclass, which is intended to strengthen their ability to present their ventures clearly and effectively.
A market research workshop will also form part of the program, although details of the session are yet to be announced.
The program will further provide opportunities for founders to connect with other entrepreneurs and potential ecosystem partners across Africa.
Who Can Apply?
The opportunity is targeted at a specific group of health innovators rather than the wider startup community.
Applicants must be current H2i Level 2 HENT ventures and must have been onboard by their lead mentor by August 31, 2026.
Applicants must also be at the Discovery stage of H2i’s four-level venture development model.
Previous winners of Pitch Perfect Africa are not eligible to apply. However, founders who previously reached the finals but did not win can submit applications again.
The eligibility requirements mean that entrepreneurs interested in the competition should first confirm that their venture is part of the required H2i program level before beginning the application process.
Building Investment-Ready Health Ventures
For early-stage health ventures, access to funding is only one part of the challenge.

The Building a Winning Pitch Masterclass is scheduled for October 9, 2026, while the main pitch competition will take place virtually on November 16, 2026.
The date and further details for the market research workshop will be announced separately.
The virtual format means selected ventures will not need to travel to participate in the pitch competition.
