The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development is inviting qualified young graduates to apply for its 2026 Young Professionals Programme.
The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has opened applications for its 2026 Young Professionals Programme, offering young professionals from ECOWAS Member States an opportunity to build practical experience within a regional development finance institution.
The programme is designed for high-potential graduates who want to develop careers in areas connected to finance, infrastructure, technology, business, public and private sector development, risk management and other fields relevant to EBID’s operations.
Selected candidates will join EBID as Young Trainee Professional Staff and gain practical exposure through departmental rotations, professional supervision and work on the Bank’s activities.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to citizens of ECOWAS Member States who meet the stated requirements.
Applicants must:
- Be under 30 years old at the time of recruitment.
- Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a field relevant to EBID’s activities.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, organisational and research skills.
- Be able to work effectively in a multicultural environment and under pressure.
- Have good knowledge of office tools including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
- Be fluent in English, French or Portuguese, with a working knowledge of at least one of the other two official working languages.

What Does the Programme Offer?
Successful candidates will initially receive a two-year fixed-term appointment, including a six-month probation period.
During the programme, participants may be rotated across different departments based on the Bank’s needs. They will also work under senior professionals, giving them an opportunity to gain practical experience while contributing to the work of a major regional development finance institution.
The advertised staff package includes conditions associated with EBID’s P1-1 grade, as well as applicable benefits such as housing and transport allowances, post-adjustment allowance, pension participation and insurance coverage.
Candidates who successfully complete the probation period may have their appointments converted to open-ended contracts, subject to the programme’s conditions and performance requirements.
How Will Candidates Be Selected?
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to EBID’s headquarters in Lomé, Togo, for written and oral assessments.
The selection process may assess technical knowledge, potential, personality and motivation, computer skills, verbal communication and written communication.
Language ability is also important, as candidates are expected to communicate in at least two of the Bank’s three working languages.
