About SISA

The Social Impact and Sustainability Awards (SISA), instituted by CSR REPORTERS, is a leading recognition and impact validation platform designed to identify, assess, and honour credible CSR, sustainability, and ESG performance across Africa. SISA was established to address a critical gap in the sustainability ecosystem—the absence of structured, evidence-based recognition systems capable of distinguishing real impact from well-articulated intent. More than an awards programme, SISA functions as a credibility framework, applying rigorous evaluation, independent validation, and outcome-based assessment to corporate and institutional impact initiatives. SISA is not about participation. It is about proof. .

Why SISA Exists

Across Africa, sustainability commitments are increasing. Reporting frameworks are improving. Corporate narratives are becoming more sophisticated. However, credible verification of impact remains limited. SISA was created to:

• Shift recognition from intent to evidence

• Promote accountability in CSR and ESG practice

• Establish a platform where impact is tested, not assumed

• Elevate standards for responsible business and institutional leadership .

What Makes SISA Different

SISA distinguishes itself through a structured and evidence-driven approach:

• Evidence-Based Assessment All submissions are evaluated based on measurable outcomes, not narrative claims.

• Independent Verification Selected entries may undergo site visits, stakeholder engagement, and beneficiary validation.

• Editorial Oversight Final decisions are ratified through CSR REPORTERS’ editorial and impact review framework.

• Integration with Impact Ranking Verified entries contribute to the CSR REPORTERS Nigeria CSR Impact Ranking. This ensures that recognition is not only earned—but defensible.
