The Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation (AAAF), a non-governmental organization focused on helping the poor will receiving the award of Best NGO in Women Empowerment at this year’s edition of CSR REPORTERS Nonprofit Roundtable and Excellence Awards in recognition of her dedication to the improvement of the well-being of women across Nigeria.
AAA Foundation is an NGO that has practically provided economic empowerment for the widows in our larger societies. The organization is helping to alleviate poverty through education, skills and financial empowerment and has invested hundreds of millions on tuition payment and medical services amongst other rehabilitative gestures.
The event which holds on July 6th is organized by CSR Reporters, Africa’s premier platform for news on Social Impact and Sustainability practices to celebrate the contributions of Nonprofits in communities across Nigeria. It is further to recognize and honor the achievements of outstanding members of the Nonprofit community who have freely and consistently committed their time and expertise to the needs of others by promoting inclusion, innovation and access in their personal and professional communities
CSR REPORTERS’ Nonprofit Roundtable and Excellence Awards is an annual event of CSR REPORTERS MAGAZINE to recognize, honor and celebrate the outstanding efforts of nonprofit organizations in general and the leaders that have made transformative impact on Nigerian society in the year under review.
Apart from women, AAAF is also committed to promoting the empowerment of teenage mothers progressed with the enrollment of girls onto different schools after child birth. AAAF has been very supportive to both widows and the helpless women in the society at large. The organization delved into this humanitarian interventions based on its wide knowledge of the sporadic rise in women’s financial incapability which has rendered many of them handicapped and unable to meet up with their domestic responsibilities. This is why the organization took it as a basic necessity to step up and upgrade the living standards of women all over the country.
As the saying goes ‘award is a call for more work’, It is our hope that this award will spur AAAF to remain focused and do more to continue to engender the protection of help women and girls across Nigeria.
