Popular socialite, Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo has empowered 300 students in Rivers and Lagos especially the indigenes of Rivers state living in Lagos.
He promised the recipients financial assistance to advance their education after obtaining good grades in West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination
Kariboye-Igbo said that it had been part of him to assist young boys and girls achieve their goal.
He said “I am offering them a lifetime opportunity; they have to go to school I think that is their ambition. I will see them through the university and if they want to do Masters abroad, I will make sure they are comfortable while going to school because, as I said earlier, that is the best we can do for them.
“They will do university, anything they want, and then by God’s grace I know I will still be standing by the time they are done with school; they will have a place in any of my organisations at the top level and if by God’s grace they find a higher calling, you see there is nothing tied to this, I do not expect anything in return.
“The students will go to any University of their choice in good condition not just to pay school fees. This is the kind of people we need. I pray that people will study hard”
The philanthropist recently helped Ruben Odeni, a student in Port Harcourt, who pleaded for financial support. He gave the student scholarship and employment.
He further promised to always mentor youths and assist them in achieving their dream in academics.
