Idumonza Isidahomhen, the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) aspirant for the Edo Central Senate bye election has disclosed that the welfare of children forms a large chunk of his senate aspiration.
Idumonza made this disclosure in his 2025 Children’s Day message to children worldwide including children in Esan community.
According to Idumonza, the 2025 Children’s Day celebration is unique in view of the numerous challenges children are bedeviled with.

The frontline contestant for the Edo Central Senate bye election pointed out poverty, violence, insecurity, malnutrition, lack of access to education and healthcare including child labour as among the challenges that must be frontally addressed.
He promised to take it up as a foremost responsibility when he gets to the Senate through the people’s vote.
He noted that these challenges among children are particularly acute in rural areas including Esanland.
The SDP aspirant lamented the lip service deployed by successive governments in addressing these issues saying that “Children are very dear to my heart. So, I feel bad when I see what our lovely children are going through.”
He explained that SDP manifestos are children friendly and called on voters to embrace SDP.
“As a father, I know the importance of children and the essential need to care for them. They are the future of the society. They deserve to be cared for.
“Therefore, on this auspicious occasion of Children’s Day, I am assuring children that SDP has plans for a better future for them.
“In our community in Esan, children as well as their parents and should be assured that a better future for Esan children including all Nigerian children is part of my cardinal goals when I get to the Senate through God’s grace,” Idumonza promised.
