In a remarkable demonstration of corporate social responsibility and community partnership, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, makers of Indomie Noodles, in collaboration with the Ajose Foundation, has awarded N5 million in scholarships to indigent students across Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Launched at a ceremony in Abeokuta, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to education and creating sustainable opportunities for disadvantaged children. The scholarships aim to break the cycle of poverty by ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder young Nigerians from pursuing their dreams.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, First Lady of Ogun State and founder of the Ajose Foundation, emphasised the transformative power of education. “Through this partnership, we are not just giving scholarships; we are opening doors of opportunity and empowering the next generation to rise above their circumstances,” she said.
Representing Dufil Prima Foods, Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager, noted that the company sees education as a cornerstone of its CSR programmes. “Empowering a child with knowledge empowers an entire family and community. This N5 million scholarship is our pledge to support families and invest in a brighter future,” he added.
The ceremony brought together government officials, community leaders, education stakeholders, and parents, all lauding the collaboration as a model of effective private-sector and civil-society partnership. Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, called the initiative “a timely investment in the nation’s future” and urged other organisations to emulate this impactful example.
For the beneficiaries and their families, the scholarships represent more than financial relief—they offer hope, motivation, and the confidence that society believes in their potential. Several pupils pledged to excel in their studies and honour the trust placed in them.
Through this initiative, Dufil Prima Foods and the Ajose Foundation have reaffirmed their conviction that education is the most powerful equalizer in society. By targeting vulnerable students, the partnership is bridging the gap between opportunity and potential, transforming lives, uplifting communities, and laying a stronger foundation for Nigeria’s future.
