Independent energy company Energia Limited has outlined its commitment to driving energy innovation and sustainable development in Africa through its participation in Africa Energy Week (AEW) 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The company will feature in a high-level panel discussion focusing on sustainable practices and indigenous solutions in Africa’s oil and gas sector, emphasizing the role of local innovation in transforming the continent’s energy landscape.
AEW, organized by the African Energy Chamber, is Africa’s premier annual energy forum, bringing together industry leaders, global investors, and policymakers to discuss strategies for shaping the future of the continent’s energy industry. Since its inception in 2021, AEW has been anchored on the mission of eradicating energy poverty in Africa by 2030.
As part of its engagement, Energia’s Chief Operating Officer, Oladimeji Bashorun, will join industry peers at the Upstream E&P Forum on Wednesday for a panel titled “Unlocking Africa’s Onshore and Shallow Water Potential Strategies for Sustainable Exploration and Development.” The session will explore pathways for optimising upstream opportunities across Africa, with a focus on sustainable exploration, regional collaboration, and homegrown technological solutions.
Energia emphasizes that its active participation at AEW 2025 demonstrates the company’s strategic plan to strengthen resilience, enhance local capacity, and foster innovation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, positioning indigenous expertise at the forefront of Africa’s energy transformation.
