Leading mobile technology and smart life brand, itel Nigeria, marked World Food Day 2025 with a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aimed at promoting nutrition, education, and community empowerment in Rivers State.
The outreach, themed “Nourish to Flourish”, took place in the Kpite and Bunu communities within Tai Local Government Area, benefiting hundreds of children and their families. In partnership with the Lagos Food Bank Initiative, itel’s CSR team visited schools including Divine Academy, St. James Academy, and Primary Schools 1–3 in Kpite, as well as Divine Grace Schools and Model Primary Schools 1–3 in Bunu.
Students received freshly cooked meals, including jollof rice and fish, alongside branded school bags, mathematical sets, and water bottles supporting both their nutrition and educational development.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2 (Zero Hunger), 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and 4 (Quality Education), reflecting itel’s commitment to making a meaningful social impact beyond its technology offerings.
Speaking at the event, PR Supervisor at itel Nigeria, Terngu Shagba, highlighted the company’s holistic approach to community development.
“At itel, we believe true progress begins with people, especially the young ones. ‘Nourish to Flourish’ is more than a CSR; it is our promise to ensure that children in underserved communities have the nutrition and tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive. By combining healthy meals with educational support, we are investing in the future of these communities,” he said.
Also addressing the gathering, Donor Relations and Partner Agency Officer at LFBI, Maume Agbaosi, praised the collaboration.
“Our partnership with itel demonstrates what is possible when organisations unite for a common cause. Together, we’ve not only provided meals but restored hope and happiness to children who deserve every opportunity to succeed. Combating hunger is a collective effort, and we are proud to work with a brand that shares our vision for a nourished and empowered Nigeria,” Agbaosi said.
Teachers and students alike welcomed the initiative, appreciating the gesture that combined care with educational support. For many, the day was not just about receiving meals and school supplies; it was a celebration of inclusion, joy, and renewed motivation to pursue their education.
Through “Nourish to Flourish”, itel continues to live its brand philosophy of “Enjoy Better Life”, demonstrating that its impact extends beyond mobile technology to tangible improvements in community welfare.
