Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has restated its dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility, extending targeted community support initiatives to vulnerable groups across the country.
In a statement, the company revealed recent donations to two key institutions, Hearts of Gold Children Hospice, a palliative home for children with disabilities, and the Shining Light Beach School Foundation providing essential food items and relief materials to bolster their efforts in caregiving and education.
Speaking on behalf of management and staff, James Agama noted that Julius Berger’s CSR philosophy is rooted in long-term impact, not token philanthropy.
Corporate Social Responsibility at Julius Berger is anchored on building stronger communities, improving quality of life, and supporting causes that promote inclusivity, education, healthcare, and social welfare,” he said.
He explained that the company’s CSR framework focuses on four pillars: education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and community development, all designed to deliver measurable contributions to national development.
Beneficiary institutions expressed deep appreciation for the support.
At Shining Light Beach School Foundation, founder Salami Dorcas described the donation as timely, noting the scarcity of recent contributions:
“I am super excited by the donation made today. The burden of food supply has been lifted for a long period. We are sincerely grateful to Julius Berger.”
In a related effort, Julius Berger extended its outreach to two Abuja-based orphanages Destined Children Orphanage in Kado and Unique Choices Care Foundation in Kubwa in commemoration of the International Day of Charity. The company donated food items and cash tokens to support the homes.
At Destined Children Orphanage, which caters to 45 children aged one month to nineteen years, administrator Sarah Chukwuemeka said:
“We are deeply grateful. These are items we use daily. This support will go a long way.”
The children expressed their appreciation through songs and prayers. At Unique Choices Care Foundation, founder Choice Michael said Julius Berger’s gesture came as a blessing:
I was overwhelmed with joy. A giver never lacks, and I pray God continues to bless your organisation.”
Speaking on behalf of the company, Public Relations Officer, Region Central & North, Akeem Lawal, reaffirmed Julius Berger’s continuous commitment to charitable causes:
“Every year, Julius Berger extends assistance to orphanages as part of its CSR policy. Our aim is to ensure these children enjoy the festive season like every other child. Beyond today’s donation, each orphanage will also receive a token credit from the company.”
