Nigeria Extends Creative Economy Fund Deadline to June 30, 2025, Boosting Access for Artists and Entrepreneurs

The Federal Government has officially extended the deadline for accessing the Creative Economy Fund to June 30, 2025.
The extension was announced by the Ministry of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, signalling a continued commitment to Nigeria’s booming creative industry — one of the country’s most promising contributors to youth employment, economic diversification, and global cultural influence.
What is the Creative Economy Fund?
Launched in 2023, the Creative Economy Fund was designed to provide financial support, training, and capacity-building for entrepreneurs and professionals in the creative space, and this includes sectors such as film, music, fashion, animation, photography, gaming, design, publishing, and digital content.
The fund, backed by partnerships with public institutions, private investors, and international development organisations, aims to empower local talent, create jobs, and drive inclusive economic growth through Nigeria’s cultural capital.
Why the Deadline Extension Matters
With thousands of applications still being processed and many creatives facing barriers to access, including digital literacy gaps, documentation issues, and regional awareness, the extension gives applicants more time to meet requirements and submit eligible proposals.

Speaking on the extension, a ministry spokesperson stated:
“This is more than just an administrative deadline. It’s a chance to ensure that no one is left behind in building a sustainable creative economy. We are particularly focused on reaching underserved regions and grassroots innovators.”
CSR & Development Implications
For corporate organisations, development agencies, and social investors, the fund presents a strategic opportunity to align CSR initiatives with Nigeria’s creative economy agenda.
By supporting or collaborating with beneficiaries of the Creative Economy Fund, companies can:
- Drive youth empowerment and innovation
- Support gender-inclusive creative ventures
- Strengthen local value chains in media and culture
- Fulfil ESG and SDG-aligned impact goals
What’s Next?
Stakeholders are encouraged to amplify awareness about the fund’s availability, especially in rural and semi-urban areas where access to information remains a challenge. Training workshops, funding clinics, and public-private partnerships are expected to ramp up in the coming months.
