The Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Information Technology, Hon. Akeem Oluseye, has called on technology companies across the world to take advantage of the state’s fast growing digital and industrial landscape by investing in Ogun State.
Oluseye described Ogun as “Nigeria’s emerging Silicon Valley,” noting that Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration has built one of the most business-friendly environments in the country one that supports innovation, attracts investors, and drives sustainable economic growth.
“This is the right time for tech investors to move into Ogun State,” Oluseye said. “Governor Abiodun is building a smart, technology driven economy where innovation meets infrastructure. With the Gateway International Airport, the proposed Olokola Deep Seaport, and several new industries, Ogun is strategically positioned as Africa’s next major tech hub.”
He added that the governor’s recent investment drive to China had already attracted global tech firms impressed by the state’s reforms, infrastructure, and digital vision.
According to Oluseye, the state offers unmatched opportunities for investors seeking rapid expansion, ease of doing business, and access to both domestic and international markets. Governor Dapo Abiodun recently unveiled the ‘Window on America’ project at the Ogun State Tech Hub, Kobape Road, Abeokuta a partnership between the American Consulate Office, GFA Technologies, and the Ogun State Government.
The governor explained that the initiative serves as a bridge between young people’s aspirations and global opportunities, providing access to technology, skills development, and innovation resources.
“This project is more than just a space,” Abiodun said. “It is a platform for knowledge exchange, skills acquisition, and peer to peer collaboration between our young minds and their counterparts around the world.”
He noted that the state’s continued investment in digital infrastructure including fibre optic connectivity, digital literacy programs, and innovation clusters reflects its commitment to building a sustainable, knowledge based economy that empowers youth and creates employment opportunities. Ogun State understands the transformative power of digital innovation in driving inclusive growth and improving the quality of life of our people, the governor added. “This is where global ideas and ideals converge with local ambitions.”
Through its ongoing technology and infrastructure initiatives, Ogun State aims to position itself as a regional innovation powerhouse, attract foreign investment, and generate thousands of new digital and industrial jobs for its growing workforce.
