The Aurora Tech Award has unveiled a bold new initiative to accelerate the growth of early stage, women led tech startups across Nigeria, equipping founders with the knowledge, tools, and investor connections needed to transform ideas into thriving businesses. The initiative, titled “Foundry for HER Bootcamp,” is powered by the Aurora Tech Award in partnership with The Nest Innovation Technology Park Ltd. It is a three day virtual accelerator designed exclusively for Nigerian women entrepreneurs, set to run from October 15 to 17, 2025.
According to the organisers, the programme will train over 120 female founders in core areas critical to startup success including fundraising, pitching, business scalability, and market expansion. Participants will also benefit from expert mentorship, practical workshops, and access to a network of investors and ecosystem leaders dedicated to nurturing women in technology.
The bootcamp seeks to tackle long-standing challenges confronting women-led startups in Nigeria, including limited access to capital, mentorship, and visibility. Research indicates that nearly 46 per cent of small businesses in Nigeria fail within their first three years, with women entrepreneurs disproportionately affected by structural and funding barriers.
Through the Foundry for HER Bootcamp, the Aurora Tech Award hopes to close this gap by providing a supportive platform for women founders to grow sustainable tech ventures that can compete and scale beyond local markets. The organisers noted that the initiative is more than a training programme, it is a launchpad for innovation, leadership, and collaboration among women who are redefining Nigeria’s digital economy.
By empowering women founders with the right knowledge and connections, the Aurora Tech Award aims to strengthen the foundation of Nigeria’s tech ecosystem and spotlight the transformative role of women driving its future.
