Realistically, being a migrant in any country tends to have some side psychological and mental effects, paving easy ways for uneasiness. Sometimes, migrants gradually develop lack of confidence in certain laws and regulations of their host countries because it may never exist in their homelands. But, it takes a mutual affinity with indigeneous fabricators of the rules for migrants to be able to acclimatize with the norms of the land.
In some parts of the world, it takes years and probably, decades for migrants to build confidence, blending into the legalized daily routines of their being aliens while in other parts, no room is in existence for gradual acclamation. As regards the latter where there is no chance for migrants to learn the ropes of living peacefully abroad, some non-governmental organizations spring up to help in defending the causes of migrants in the country of their operations. One of these organizations is Patriotic Citizens Initiative (PCI).
PCI has always put itself in the forefront of clamoring for the rights of migrants in the African continent viz-a-viz Nigeria. Basically, it’s part of the motivational vision and mission statement of the organization and it has gone a very long way in establishing it’s modus operandi in the minds of the people most especially migrants. The unbiased commitment of Patriotic Citizens Initiative (PCI) to boost the confidence of migrants and make them aware that they are stakeholders in their host country is commendable and this is why the organization is today, bestowed with the Best NGO on Migrant Issues by CSR Reporters. It is an extremely worthy honour for an organization that plays such a magnificent role on any country.
Congratulations Patriotic citizens initiative.
Congratulation to PCI and my boss comrade Osita Osemene for this outstanding award. We are happy about it and will still hope for more awards…🤣
