TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited has handed over a newly constructed multi million naira classroom block to Model Nursery and Primary School, Igbo Ukwu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, reaffirming its commitment to advancing education through corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The facility, built in partnership with NNPC Limited, CNOOC, SAPETRO, and MEREN 234, includes six fully equipped classrooms, offices, gender-sensitive restrooms, and modern teaching tools. Each classroom is furnished to comfortably accommodate 40 pupils, providing a more conducive environment for learning and teaching.
Speaking during the handover, TotalEnergies’ Managing Director, Mr. Matthieu Bouyer, noted that the project is designed to support the government’s efforts in reducing out-of-school children and improving the quality of education in Nigeria. He added that education remains a central pillar of the company’s social investment strategy.
School headmistress, Mrs. Ifeoma Ezeokeke, praised the initiative, describing it as a “transformative investment” that will enrich learning experiences and equip pupils with the foundation for a brighter future. Community leaders and parents also expressed gratitude, highlighting the project as a timely intervention that ensures pupils have access to modern and engaging learning environments.
