Teach For Nigeria (TFN) has reinforced its commitment to transforming the country’s education landscape by empowering young innovators to develop solutions that tackle learning challenges nationwide.
This was showcased at the 2025 TFN Pitch Competition held recently in Lagos, where 12 alumni of the Teach For Nigeria Fellowship presented projects aimed at enhancing teaching, learning, and inclusion in Nigerian schools.
Molade Adeniyi, Chief Executive Officer of TFN, explained that the initiative aligns with the organisation’s mission to equip its alumni with the skills, resources, and support needed to create sustainable impact in education. The programme nurtures early stage social innovations addressing systemic education challenges. Since 2020, we have supported over 60 projects, disbursed more than ₦10 million in seed funding, and positively impacted over 2,500 educators and 15,000 children nationwide,” Adeniyi said.
The 12 finalists pitched their solutions before a panel of judges representing the Oando Foundation, British Council, Wema Bank, and Alpha Michelle Appraisals Limited.
At the conclusion of the competition, Adetomiwa Awofeso, founder of Scholaride Initiative, emerged as the winner for his literacy and numeracy project in Makoko. Olayinka Adeosun of STEAM Dock and Emmanuel Epueme of CareerLab were named first and second runners up, respectively. The Chairman of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, praised TFN for its dedication to improving learning outcomes and fostering the next generation of education leaders.
