Bridge Charity Foundation, an initiative of WealthBridge Financial Services Holdings Limited, has launched the Bridge Foundation University Scholarship Programme, a ₦700 million education support initiative designed to expand access to quality tertiary education for Nigerian students.
The scholarship programme is aimed at academically outstanding undergraduates who demonstrate leadership potential, strong character, and genuine financial need. Selected beneficiaries will receive full or partial tuition support, annual stipends, structured mentorship, and internship opportunities, offering both financial assistance and practical exposure to prepare them for future leadership roles.
Speaking at the launch, the Group Chief Executive Officer of WealthBridge Financial Services Holdings Limited, Ahmed Lawal, described the initiative as a reflection of the Group’s long-term commitment to education and national development.
“At WealthBridge, we believe that access to quality education is one of the most powerful tools for shaping the future of individuals, communities, and the nation at large. The Bridge Foundation University Scholarship Programme is our deliberate investment in Nigeria’s next generation of leaders—young people with the potential to drive innovation, economic growth, and positive societal change,” Lawal said.
The programme underscores Bridge Charity Foundation’s mission to use education as a catalyst for sustainable development while nurturing a pipeline of skilled, ethical, and socially responsible leaders across Nigeria.
The Bridge Foundation University Scholarship Programme goes beyond financial assistance by placing strong emphasis on mentorship and practical exposure, key components designed to develop well-rounded and future-ready graduates.
Speaking further on the initiative, WealthBridge Financial Services Holdings Limited noted that the scholarship selection process will be strictly merit-driven, transparent, and independently supervised to ensure credibility and fairness.
Oversight of the programme will be provided by an independent selection committee made up of distinguished professionals from academia, finance, governance, and the corporate sector. Members of the committee include Professor Adewale Olawoyin, capital markets expert Tairat Tijani, governance professional Ganiyat Olusesi, and senior academic Professor Ibrahim Sodangi.
According to the Bridge Charity Foundation, the calibre and diversity of the committee reflect its commitment to excellence, accountability, and integrity in administering the scholarship, while ensuring that deserving students across Nigeria are fairly identified and supported.
