Green Africa Associates & Alliances has opened applications for the 2026 edition of its SDGs Innovations Fellowship, a program designed to support young Africans developing innovative solutions to some of the continent’s social, economic and environmental challenges.
The fellowship is focused on advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by identifying and supporting young people with ideas, projects and solutions capable of contributing to one or more of the 17 global goals.
Applications for the fellowship opened on August 24, 2026, and will close on September 24, 2026.
About the Fellowship
The Green Africa Associates SDGs Innovations Fellowship is designed to equip young Africans with the knowledge, skills, mentorship and networks needed to turn innovative ideas into practical solutions.
According to Green Africa Associates & Alliances, the programme focuses on innovation, green entrepreneurship and sustainable development, while creating opportunities for participants to develop solutions that can contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
The fellowship is open to young Africans from diverse academic, professional and entrepreneurial backgrounds. This includes young professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and other individuals working on ideas or initiatives that can create meaningful social, economic or environmental impact.
Rather than focusing only on developing ideas, the programme also seeks to help participants explore how their solutions can eventually be implemented.
Who Can Apply?
The fellowship is open to young Africans between the ages of 18 and 35.
Applicants are expected to demonstrate an interest in innovation and problem-solving, alongside a passion for green entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
They should also show a commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals within their communities, organisations, sectors or countries.
The programme welcomes applicants from different professional and academic backgrounds, meaning candidates do not necessarily have to come from a specific field of study.

What Selected Fellows Will Gain
