In a laudable display of corporate social responsibility, leading food and beverage company CWay has donated 50 traffic booths to the Lagos State Police Command, aimed at enhancing the working conditions and safety of officers on traffic duties.
The donation was officially handed over by Samuel Akinrimisi, Deputy Marketing Director at CWay, who expressed the company’s dedication to supporting law enforcement and contributing to the overall security infrastructure.
Akinrimisi emphasized the importance of private-sector involvement in equipping law enforcement agencies, stating that ensuring good policing should not solely be the responsibility of the government. He highlighted the critical role security plays in the overall development of society and noted that CWay’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aligns with the goal of promoting security, safety, and the well-being of traffic wardens within the Nigeria Police Force.
“This CSR initiative showcases the CWay group as a company that is committed to ensuring security, safety, and shelter for traffic wardens within the Nigeria Police Force. Security is paramount, and CWay recognizes the pivotal role it plays in the overall well-being of our society,” Akinrimisi stated.
He emphasized the need for collaboration between businesses, communities, and law enforcement, underlining that the government alone cannot meet all the requirements for effective policing. Akinrimisi stated, “CWay is ensuring that we support the government. The government can’t do it alone. And as a business, we make our money here, and it’s also important that we give back to the society which has been very gracious to us.”
The 50 traffic booths are designed to provide shelter and comfort for officers engaged in traffic control duties. Akinrimisi assured that CWay would periodically refresh and maintain the booths to ensure the officers have access to the necessary safety equipment.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, expressed gratitude to CWay for its generous donation and urged other organizations to follow suit in supporting the police force. He acknowledged the vital role played by the private sector in complementing government efforts to enhance security infrastructure.
CWay remains committed to fostering a safe and secure environment and will continue to explore opportunities to contribute to the well-being of the communities it serves.
