Adeoye Remi is a Lagos-based software engineer and site reliability specialist with 12 years of experience developing and maintaining technology systems across financial technology, e-commerce and healthcare. His career spans some of Africa’s prominent fintech companies, where he has contributed to payment infrastructure, financial products and systems designed to support complex operational requirements.
Remi is currently building independently, drawing on more than a decade of experience working on software systems that support digital financial services.
Most recently, he served as a Senior Software Engineer at Paystack, where his work focused on the infrastructure underpinning payment operations. His responsibilities included developing new features, improving existing systems, breaking down legacy software into microservices and leading the development of a settlement system designed to accommodate evolving regulatory requirements across multiple countries and settlement partners.
Beyond Paystack
His experience at Paystack built on earlier roles at other major players in Africa’s fintech ecosystem.
At Kora Payment Network, also known as Korapay, Remi served as Senior Software Engineer and Product Lead. In that capacity, he oversaw the company’s flagship enterprise financial product, including its disbursement and collection platform. He also developed an international money transfer solution serving customers in the United States and Canada.
Previously, at Flutterwave, he worked on backend infrastructure for payment and USSD services. His responsibilities included integrating billers and third-party service providers, as well as collaborating with digital banks and international money transfer organisations across Nigeria and the wider African market.
Beyond fintech, Remi’s career includes experience delivering software solutions for major corporate clients, including Dangote, Procter & Gamble Nigeria, Unilever Nigeria and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

Public Healthcare
He also contributed to the development of data management systems supporting healthcare programmes for people living with HIV, leprosy and tuberculosis across Nigeria. This experience extends his professional background beyond commercial technology into systems supporting public health programmes.
Across these roles, his expertise has covered software engineering, product development, infrastructure reliability and engineering leadership. His technical experience includes programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Solidity, Go, Rust, Python and C#, alongside cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
He has also worked with infrastructure automation, deployment and monitoring tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Datadog, New Relic and the Elastic Stack. These technologies support the development, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of software systems.
Remi holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, graduating with Second Class Upper Division honours from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
His professional journey reflects the range of technical expertise required to develop and maintain digital services across financial and other essential sectors. As African businesses increasingly depend on digital platforms, the engineers responsible for building and maintaining their underlying systems remain an important part of the technology ecosystem.
