In 2000, the African Development Bank, with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, led the development of the Africa Water Vision 2025, which has guided water sector efforts across the continent over the last two decades.
The Bank will continue to work closely with the African Union Commission, African Ministers’ Council on Water, and diverse partners to ensure that the insights gained from the consultation workshop as well as other planned regional consultations will support the new water vision and policy, capturing the evolving needs and solutions for water and sanitation in Africa.
