Chappal Energies has reaffirmed its dedication to opportunity, empowerment, and national pride by sponsoring Nigeria’s Women’s Rugby League Team, the Green Falcons, as they head to Canada to compete in the 2025 Rugby League World Series.
This historic tournament presents a first ever chance for an African nation to qualify for the Women’s Rugby League World Cup, with Nigeria joining Canada, Ireland, and Fiji in a battle for the final qualification spot for the 2026 World Cup in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Speaking on the sponsorship, Ufoma Immanuel, Managing Director of Chappal Energies, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for growth.
“Supporting the Green Falcons embodies what we stand for at Chappal Energies: belief, perseverance, and possibility. Our Falcons represent the resilience, courage, and ambition that drive progress in our communities and our country. We are proud to stand with them as they make history for Nigeria and Africa,” Immanuel stated.
Abiodun Cole, Chairman of the Nigerian Rugby League, described the team’s participation as a defining moment for women’s sports in Nigeria and Africa, commending Chappal Energies for its timely support.
“This moment carries the hopes of a nation, of every girl who has ever been told she couldn’t. Chappal’s support reminds us that we are not alone and that Nigeria believes in us.
The Green Falcons are set to play their first match on October 21 as part of the global tournament in Canada. Chappal Energies highlighted that its sponsorship aligns with its broader social investment and community impact strategy, which focuses on empowerment, inclusion, and local capacity development. The company continues to expand initiatives that promote education, sports, and leadership among Nigerian youth, reinforcing its commitment to building opportunities that unlock potential and celebrate national pride.
