Dangote bags of Rice as Donated to Taraba State
As part of its nationwide humanitarian efforts, the Aliko Dangote Foundation has donated 20,000 bags of 10kg rice to Taraba State to help ease the economic burden facing many households.
The donation was officially received in Jalingo by the Chairman of the Distribution Committee, Hon. Sale Sa’ad, alongside members of the committee and the 16 local government chairmen, led by Hon. Dr. Aminu Hassan.
According to Hon. Dr. Aminu Hassan, each local government area will receive an equal share of the rice, prioritizing vulnerable groups, including widows, the elderly, and internally displaced persons.
“We have set up transparent mechanisms at the local level to ensure the rice reaches those who need it most,” he assured.
Speaking during the handover, Hon. Sale Sa’ad expressed gratitude to the Dangote Foundation, describing the gesture as timely.

“This donation could not have come at a better time. Many families are struggling to put food on the table, and this rice will bring some relief,” he said.
Beneficiaries have already begun receiving the rice in some areas. A widow in Ardo-Kola LGA, Hajiya Zainab Musa, expressed her appreciation.
“Things have been really hard for us. This bag of rice may seem small to some, but it means a lot to my family right now,” she said tearfully.
Community leaders and civil society groups have also praised the donation, urging other private sector players to emulate the Dangote Foundation.
“This is what social responsibility looks like. It’s not just about profits—it’s about giving back,” noted Mr. Emmanuel Dogo, a local activist.
The distribution is expected to be completed within the week.
