The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigeria Council has urged stronger global leadership and decisive action to secure a cleaner, more sustainable energy future, as it concluded the 2025 Nigeria Annual International Conference & Exhibition (NAICE) at the Eko Hotels Convention Centre, Lagos.
The event drew over 2,000 delegates, more than 100 exhibitors, and leading industry experts from across the world, who shared breakthrough research, unveiled cutting-edge technologies, and explored strategies to meet rising global energy demand without sacrificing environmental responsibility or economic stability.
With the theme “Building a Sustainable Energy Future: Leveraging Technology, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Policy”, the conference emphasized a holistic approach to long-term energy security, environmental stewardship, and inclusive economic growth.
“Through innovation, resilient supply chains, skilled talent, and forward-thinking policies, we can deliver a cleaner and brighter energy future for generations to come,” said Engr. Amina Danmadami, PhD, 2025 SPE Nigeria Council Chair.
The program featured a Topical Issues Workshop on oil and gas industry reforms, high-level plenary sessions on the four thematic pillars, and targeted initiatives for Women in Energy, Young Professionals, Students, and Families — underscoring SPE’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preceding the main conference were 13 hybrid professional training courses and the African Young Professionals “YP Away Day.”
The technical program showcased peer-reviewed research to be published on the international SPE OnePetro platform, while the exhibition floor highlighted innovations spanning exploration, production, renewables, and non-energy services, opening new avenues for investment and collaboration.
NAICE 2026 will be held from August 3–5, themed “Thriving in the Evolving Global Energy Landscape: Collaborative Growth and Resilience”, with training courses scheduled for August 1–2.
SPE remains the world’s leading professional association for petroleum industry practitioners, connecting engineers, scientists, and energy professionals to advance safe, secure, and sustainable energy development globally.
