BUA Cement, a leading Nigerian cement company, has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by investing N360 million in various community projects and scholarships in Sokoto. The company’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Yusuf Binji, announced this significant contribution during the handover ceremony of a solar motorised borehole and the installation of a 500KVA transformer in the communities of Gagi and Gidan Baduwa in Sokoto South and Wamakko local government areas of the state.
Representing Engr. Yusuf Binji at the event, Director of Health, Community Safety, and Environment, Engineer Tukur Lawal, underscored BUA Cement’s dedication to its CSR initiatives and its commitment to giving back to host communities through impactful projects and scholarships for indigent students.

This is achieved through donations, sponsorships, and various initiatives aimed at uplifting the people and supporting community development projects,” stated Engineer Tukur Lawal.
BUA Cement believes in complementing government efforts to provide basic amenities to host communities, aligning with its commitment to social responsibility. In the current year (2022), the company has already executed similar projects in Gidan Gamba (solar borehole) and Hunde Cibuwa (500KVA transformer).
The solar motorised borehole and transformer installation in Gagi and Gidan Baduwa mark another milestone in BUA Cement’s CSR efforts to enhance the living standards of the communities it serves.
