Young agribusiness entrepreneurs across Africa have been invited to apply for the 2026 edition of the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition, an initiative aimed at supporting innovative, youth‑led solutions within the continent’s food systems.
The competition continues to position itself as a leading platform for identifying high‑impact agripreneurs who are addressing critical challenges across agriculture and food value chains. From primary production and processing to distribution, agri‑tech, and climate‑smart solutions, the initiative seeks ventures that combine innovation with measurable impact.
Funding and Support Opportunities
Participants stand a chance to access funding of up to $50,000, awarded to outstanding agribusiness entrepreneurs to support the growth and expansion of their ventures. Two grand prize winners, one male and one female entrepreneur will each receive $50,000. In addition to the top prizes, other finalists may receive supplementary funding and recognition for excellence in areas such as sustainability, innovation, and social impact.
Beyond financial support, the competition offers mentorship, exposure to investors, and access to a network of industry experts and partners. Finalists will also have the opportunity to pitch their businesses on an international stage, increasing their chances of securing partnerships and scaling their solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to African entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35 who are founders or co‑founders of agribusiness ventures operating within the continent. Applicants are expected to be actively involved in their businesses and must demonstrate innovation, scalability, and a clear potential for impact. Both early‑stage and growth‑stage businesses are eligible, provided they present viable solutions to challenges within the agrifood sector.
Driving Transformation in Africa’s Food Systems
Agriculture remains a key driver of economic growth and employment across Africa. However, the sector continues to face challenges including limited access to finance, climate‑related risks, and inefficiencies in production and distribution.
The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition plays a strategic role in addressing these gaps by empowering young entrepreneurs who are developing practical and scalable solutions. By supporting innovation in agribusiness, the initiative contributes to improving food security, creating jobs, and strengthening resilience across the continent.
Over time, the competition has evolved into a broader ecosystem that not only rewards innovation but also connects entrepreneurs to opportunities that enable long‑term growth.
Application Deadline
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications before the June 2026 deadline, as late entries are typically not considered.
