The Alamuwa Grammar School in the Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government Area of Ogun State, Nigeria, was a hub of activity on September 7, 2024. The event brought together a gathering of esteemed media professionals, notable personalities, and distinguished members of society. The occasion was the final burial ceremony of the late Musiliat Amoke Falade, the Iya Oba of Imasayi Kingdom in Yewa, Ogun State, and mother of Ramon Nasir, Group Head of Media and External Relations at United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc.
The event was a vibrant celebration of life, filled with music, food, and drinks, creating an atmosphere of festivity in honor of the late matriarch. Members and executives of the Celebrity Journal Publishers’ Association of Nigeria (CJPAN) were present to pay their respects to the late Iya Oba and support Nasir, a respected figure in the media and public relations industry. Musiliat Amoke Falade was remembered fondly for her impactful life and contributions to her community. “May her soul rest peacefully in the bosom of her Creator,” was the sentiment echoed by those in attendance.
It is worth recalling that the late Iya Oba passed away on Thursday morning, July 25, at the age of 85, at Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos. She was laid to rest the following day, July 26, at her residence in Oredola Estate, Okepadi, Ado-Odo/Otta, Ogun State, in accordance with Islamic rites.
Fondly known as “Olowoletiasho,” Falade was appointed the Iya Oba of Imasayi in 2021 following the installation of Oba Olalekan Kuoye as the Olu of Imasayi Kingdom. Her legacy will be remembered by many. Farewell to the revered Iya Oba of Imasayi!
