The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu (CON), through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Food Outreach Scheme, has extended critical food support to vulnerable households in Delta State, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to social welfare and inclusive governance.
At a distribution exercise held at Government House, Asaba, over 400 households the elderly, persons with disabilities, the visually impaired, orphanages, and other disadvantaged groups benefited from more than 3,000 bags of semolina and 2,500 cartons of pasta.
Representing Senator Tinubu, the First Lady of Delta State and founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, said the outreach was part of a national effort to strengthen food security interventions for vulnerable Nigerians.
“This initiative, which began with modest reach, is today expanding to cover more households. It reflects the federal government’s commitment to ensuring that no group is left behind in our national development agenda,” she said.
She commended the Renewed Hope Initiative for aligning with broader social protection policies that target the most disadvantaged communities, while encouraging citizens to sustain the programme with support and prayers.
The Wife of the Deputy Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, also highlighted the partnership between federal and state structures as a model for effective welfare delivery, noting that such collaborations bring tangible impact directly to those who need it most.
The food outreach underscores the administration’s focus on inclusive social policies, particularly in cushioning the effects of economic hardship on the most vulnerable populations, while building stronger community support systems across the country.
