As part of his campaign ahead of the November 8 gubernatorial election, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s campaign train made strategic stops in Ajalli and Umunze, headquarters of Orumba North and South Local Government Areas respectively, where he engaged with over 10,000 enthusiastic supporters.
The visit, aimed at strengthening community ties and outlining his administration’s achievements and future plans, saw the Governor emphasize key priorities such as infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and inclusive governance.
Speaking to the crowd, Governor Soludo reaffirmed his confidence in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and urged voters to exercise their civic duty with diligence. “Be careful when you vote to avoid invalid votes,” he advised, underscoring the importance of every ballot in shaping Anambra’s future.
According to his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo described the ongoing campaign as “a divine project and a mass movement,” highlighting the unprecedented level of grassroots participation, with communities voluntarily contributing funds and mobilizing support for APGA.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude to Orumba people, the Governor said, “This visit is a homecoming for me. I thank you for the overwhelming support you gave me four years ago. Everyone is saying that we are the consensus candidate in Anambra, and with your votes, we will win again.”
Governor Soludo also reiterated his administration’s focus on sustainable development: “We are intentionally building a society where everyone has the opportunity to excel. After November 8, we will accelerate development across the state. Our roads, schools, and hospitals in Orumba are just the beginning.
Prominent figures who joined the Governor on the campaign trail included former Deputy Governor Chief Emeka Sibudu, Commissioner for Agriculture Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, Chief of Staff Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Member representing Orumba North and South Federal Constituency Princess Chinwe Nnabuife, Lady Ifeoma Ekwueme, Mrs. Amaka Iruegbu, and Chief Ben Nwankwo.
They all reiterated that APGA remains the dominant political force in Orumba, describing it as “the only party that truly exists in the eighteen wards and fifteen communities of Orumba South.”
In a show of solidarity and commitment, Orumba North and Orumba South contributed ₦75 million and ₦150 million respectively to support Governor Soludo’s re-election campaign.
