Heirs Energies is set to take center stage at Africa Energy Week (AEW) 2025, holding from September 29 to October 2 in Cape Town, South Africa, where it will highlight how innovation and locally-led processes can accelerate Africa’s energy transition.
Represented by CEO Osa Igiehon and Executive Director/CFO Sam Nwanze, the company will join global policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to shape discussions on sustainable growth, energy security, and the role of indigenous operators in transforming Africa’s energy landscape.
Igiehon will feature in two high-level sessions. The first, Frontier Plays Within Africa’s Mature Basins, will explore how African independents can deploy innovative operational processes to convert mature assets into growth engines drawing from Heirs Energies’ successful turnaround of OML 17 into a model of African-led operational excellence.
He will also participate in the Invest in the Republic of Congo Roundtable, sharing lessons from Nigeria’s experience on how innovation in governance, brownfield development, and community engagement can attract investment and accelerate frontier region growth.
“At Heirs Energies, we don’t just believe Africa’s mature and frontier assets hold potential, we have demonstrated it,” Igiehon said. “The OML 17 turnaround shows that with the right processes, innovation, and governance, indigenous operators can unlock value where others saw decline.”
By showcasing its innovation led journey, Heirs Energies aims to reinforce that Africa’s energy future depends on combining local expertise, sustainable practices, and transformative processes to drive both economic growth and the energy transition.
