In a significant push toward building a more supportive and inclusive agricultural economy, over 250 smallholder farmers in Warri and other parts of Delta State have received essential inputs and hands-on training, thanks to MyAgroPadi, a fast-growing digital-first agritech platform.
After more than a decade of grappling with limited access to quality inputs, rising costs, and outdated techniques, farmers are finally receiving the support needed to boost productivity and sustainability.
Organized in partnership with the Sarah Avwomakpa Foundation, the one-day workshop delivered practical coaching on agribusiness management, modern farming methods, and post-harvest handling. The session also featured direct mentorship from leading agricultural professionals.
“Access to affordable inputs and practical knowledge has long been a barrier for Nigerian farmers,” said MyAgroPadi’s founder. “We are not just deploying technology — we’re building a sustainable ecosystem where farmers are skilled, well-resourced, and connected to fair markets.”
Through its platform, MyAgroPadi offers more than just digital tools. Farmers benefit from:
Free coaching on farmland management
Improved, high-yield seedlings
Direct market linkage to off-takers, bypassing middlemen and reducing exploitation
Even farmers with limited digital access were included, as the platform blends online and grassroots outreach strategies to ensure no one is left behind. Participants were guided through platform navigation and equipped with seedlings expected to significantly improve their yields this season.
The workshop was led by a team of agricultural experts:
Okpidi Ebireri, a soil scientist
Sunday Oyoroko, an agribusiness strategist
Anthony Eduvie, an agricultural engineer
They shared valuable insights on topics such as soil health, cost management, and strategic farm planning — all aimed at improving profitability and long-term viability for small-scale farmers.
Despite Nigeria’s vast agricultural potential, smallholders often struggle due to outdated practices and lack of access to supportive systems. MyAgroPadi’s initiative signals a new approach — one that combines technology, training, and trusted market connections to build resilient farming communities.
With programs like this, MyAgroPadi is positioning itself as a catalyst for economic empowerment in Nigeria’s agricultural space, ensuring that farmers are not only equipped to grow but also to thrive.
