The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at boosting economic growth, improving service delivery, and deepening local content participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
During a knowledge exchange session held at the Nigerian Content Tower, Yenagoa, both agencies agreed to leverage each other’s institutional strengths to enhance corporate governance and deliver sustainable benefits to host communities.
NCDMB Executive Secretary, Felix Ogbe, represented by the Director of Corporate Services, Abdulmalik Halilu, said the partnership would help streamline internal processes, promote transparency, and scale community-based economic initiatives such as the Oloibiri Oil and Gas Museum and Research Centre and the Back to the Creeks programme both designed to empower local talents and entrepreneurs.
He emphasized that integrating youths and host communities into the oil and gas value chain through training, business support, and employment would drive long-term economic inclusion and stability in the Niger Delta region.
In response, NDDC’s Director of Corporate Governance, Mr. Anele Nzelaw, lauded the NCDMB’s operational model, noting that adopting its governance framework could significantly improve NDDC’s efficiency and developmental impact across the region.
