Bauchi State is witnessing a new wave of entrepreneurship support as the Wunti Alkhair Foundation trains 1,000 small business owners and emerging entrepreneurs in areas such as business mindset, financial management, market positioning, and access to finance.
Speaking to journalists, the foundation’s Director of Programmes, Mustapha Ango, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s mission to create opportunities that transform lives while ensuring no vulnerable group is left behind.
He explained that beyond training, the foundation is laying the groundwork for sustainable growth through multiple interventions. Under the Bauchi Business Clinic, entrepreneurs now benefit from free Corporate Affairs Commission registration to strengthen formalisation, while access to mentorship and networks is helping them scale their businesses.
In addition, the foundation rolled out the Bala Wunti Tech Fellowship 2025, which exposed Bauchi youth to global technology leaders at GITEX Nigeria, Lagos. The fellowship, Ango noted, is preparing young innovators to compete nationally and internationally.
On the agricultural front, the Bauchi Agricultural Advancement Programme has provided fertiliser support to 6,000 smallholder farmers to boost productivity, enhance food security, and reduce financial burdens.
“These initiatives are not just about handouts,” Ango said. “Every skill taught, every bag of fertiliser distributed, and every startup supported is an investment in Bauchi’s future as a hub for innovation and growth.”
The foundation also demonstrated its commitment to social welfare by distributing food essentials during Eid al-Maulud, helping families celebrate with dignity despite economic challenges.
Through its holistic approach spanning business, technology, agriculture, and community support Wunti Alkhair Foundation is positioning Bauchi as a place where small businesses can thrive and contribute meaningfully to economic growth.
