As part of its corporate social responsibility and youth empowerment agenda, ABUMET Nigeria Ltd, a leading provider of aluminium and glass solutions, recently hosted its first ever Graffiti Art Competition in Abuja, offering university students a unique platform to showcase their creativity while engaging with elements of the company’s identity.
The initiative, focused on education, innovation, and human capital development, challenged participants to incorporate ABUMET’s core elements aluminium profiles, façades, and craftsmanship into their artistic creations. Over two days, students transformed blank shipping containers into vibrant, thought provoking murals that celebrated originality, technique, and creative expression.
Judged by seasoned local artists, entries were assessed on creativity, relevance to the theme, execution, and overall impact. At the conclusion, three winners emerged: Johaness took first prize, earning N1,000,000; Zaphaniel secured second place with N500,000; and Boluwatife claimed third prize of N300,000. Consolation awards were also presented to all other participants in recognition of their effort and talent.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, ABUMET General Manager Diemo Schillack highlighted the competition as a reflection of the company’s dedication to nurturing young talent.
This initiative is more than a competition, it is a deliberate effort to empower the next generation, encouraging them to discover, develop, and excel in their talents,” Schillack said. “By supporting creative expression, we aim to inspire young leaders who will drive innovation and societal progress.”
Through this program, ABUMET underscores its commitment to youth development, creativity, and the cultivation of skills that contribute to both personal growth and community advancement.
