The Chinwe-Bode Akinwande (CBA) Foundation has reaffirmed its commitment to bringing hope, empowerment, and sustainable support to widows and underprivileged families across Nigeria as it prepares to host its annual empowerment conference in Lagos.
Themed “Empowering Widows in Nigeria: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty and Vulnerability,” the conference seeks to shed light on the struggles faced by widows and explore solutions that promote economic independence, dignity, and inclusion.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Founder of the CBA Foundation, Chinwe Bode Akinwande, emphasised the organisation’s mission to create pathways of opportunity for women often left behind by social and economic systems.
“Widows are often exploited because of their vulnerability. Our mission is to restore their confidence, amplify their voices, and empower them through partnerships, training, and access to resources that can change their lives,” she said.
Since its inception in 2015, the Foundation has impacted over 10,000 widows through empowerment and capacity building programmes, while over 100 children from low income families have benefited from tuition support and vocational training.
The CBA Foundation continues to serve as a beacon of hope driving social change through compassion, empowerment, and community based initiatives that uplift those who need it most.
