Good Governance Africa Nigeria (GGA Nigeria) is set to inspire and empower the next generation of female leaders through its annual Africa’s Girl Child Dialogues, holding on October 10 in Lagos. The event, which coincides with the International Day of the Girl Child, will spotlight emerging career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industries two of Africa’s most dynamic growth sectors.
Hosted at the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce in Lekki, this year’s dialogue, themed “Exploring Career Opportunities in the Hospitality and Tourism Industries,” aims to equip secondary school students, undergraduates, and young graduates with the skills, confidence, and insight to chart impactful careers in service and tourism management.
Through engaging discussions led by experienced professionals including Nkechi Adedeji, Curator of the National Museum, Lagos; Jessica Dorathy Udey of Vintano Hotel, Lekki; Sharon Ashinze of Vertiline Synergy Limited; Oyinkansola Kaosara of Betatrips Limited; and Esther Ifuku of DigitalFei participants will gain hands-on exposure to the diverse career paths available within the industries. The session will be moderated by actor and children’s content creator, Joshua Lawrence.
Speaking on the purpose of the dialogue, GGA Nigeria’s Executive Director, Dr. Ola Bello, described the initiative as “a bridge between education and opportunity.” Our goal is to help young girls see beyond traditional career options and recognise the incredible potential within the hospitality and tourism space. By engaging directly with industry experts, they begin to imagine themselves as future innovators and leaders in these global sectors.
The annual dialogue forms part of GGA Nigeria’s broader mission to promote inclusive development, governance excellence, and gender equity through education and mentorship. Over the years, it has become a vital platform for nurturing ambition, confidence, and leadership among young women across Nigeria.
This year’s edition seeks not only to raise awareness but also to teach practical pathways from entrepreneurship and event management to cultural tourism and digital hospitality innovation empowering girls to build sustainable careers that contribute to Africa’s social and economic transformation.
By merging leadership with learning, and aspiration with opportunity, GGA Nigeria continues to reaffirm that empowered girls build stronger nations and that the future of Africa’s tourism and hospitality industries is bright, inclusive, and female-led.
