Baobab has rebranded as Izili, reaffirming its role as a catalyst for economic growth through last-mile renewable energy and digital inclusion across Africa.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer of Izili Group, Kolawole Osinowo, said the new identity follows BioLite’s majority stake acquisition in April 2025 and signals a stronger commitment to economic empowerment through clean energy and digital connectivity.
According to Osinowo, Izili’s work goes beyond energy delivery it is an enabler of livelihoods. By powering households, small enterprises, and underserved communities across Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Madagascar, and Nigeria, the company is creating jobs, improving productivity, and enabling digital participation for millions.
“Our mission as Izili is simple yet transformative: to energize lives and connect communities,” he said. “Every solar kit installed, every entrepreneur linked to digital tools, contributes directly to household savings, business growth, and wider economic participation.”
He emphasized that Izili’s extensive last-mile distribution network ensures affordable solar energy and digital services reach even the most remote markets unlocking opportunities for microbusinesses, reducing reliance on costly fuel alternatives, and fostering long-term community resilience.
The CEO added that the rebrand will not affect client services, stressing that partners and customers will continue to enjoy the same quality of service and technical support under the new identity. The rollout of the new brand will take place progressively across all operational markets in the coming months.
By strengthening access to renewable energy and digital tools, Izili positions itself as a driver of Africa’s inclusive growth agenda, contributing directly to sustainable development, poverty reduction, and economic transformation.
