The outgoing Director-General of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC), Dr. Ebere Njoku, has convened a high-level leadership conference aimed at equipping women with the tools to drive sustainable influence, business success, and broader economic growth.
The exclusive event, titled “The Next Level Immersive: Strategy, Confidence & Connection for High-Performing Women Leaders,” brought together 24 accomplished women from banking, manufacturing, hospitality, media, and other sectors to explore strategies for scaling new heights in their careers and enterprises.
Njoku, a leadership coach, speaker, and published author, explained that the initiative also known as “Conversations and Connections Immersive” was designed to help women recalibrate, build confidence, and strengthen their capacity to influence society and the economy positively.
“This platform is not a mass event but a carefully curated space for deep, meaningful conversations that can shape personal growth and even policy direction,” Njoku said. “When women understand their worth and make their value visible, they not only transform their lives but also strengthen institutions and contribute to national development.”
Participants described the experience as transformative.
Ayodele Olojede, Regional Head of Retail and SMEs at Wema Bank, noted that the session fostered self-awareness and resilience. “Irrespective of the hurdles and challenges around you, you are still making progress and achieving milestones that take you closer to self-actualisation. This directly impacts how we build stronger businesses and communities,” she said.
Leadership coach Lilian Adegbola added that the emphasis on distinction, sound decision-making, and resilience stood out. “It is about doing away with mediocrity, making no excuses, and always playing above the line,” she said.
Njoku stressed that empowering women with strategy, confidence, and connections does more than elevate individuals it contributes to building sustainable businesses, fostering innovation, and unlocking economic opportunities that benefit the wider society.
By investing in the leadership capacity of women, the conference highlighted the link between personal empowerment and national economic growth, showing that when women thrive, industries and communities also flourish.
