In a bold move to nurture the next generation of innovation leaders, Sahara Group has unveiled the Graduate Business Analyst (GBA) Program a strategic initiative designed to equip emerging professionals with advanced analytical, data driven, and problem solving skills to accelerate growth across Africa’s energy value chain.
According to Bethel Obioma, Head of Corporate Communications at Sahara Group, the GBA Program reflects the company’s deep commitment to leveraging insight, analytics, and decision intelligence in shaping a sustainable energy future.
“The Graduate Business Analyst Program gives young professionals the opportunity to decode data, drive change, and create measurable impact. It’s an investment in the future of business intelligence, empowering tomorrow’s leaders to strengthen Africa’s global competitiveness in the energy space,” Obioma said.
Emilomo Arorote, Group Head of Human Resources, described the initiative as a strategic evolution of Sahara’s legacy talent programs the Graduate Management Trainee (GMT) and Graduate Engineer Program (GEP) both of which have produced high-performing professionals now leading across the company’s global operations in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
“As Sahara approaches its 30th anniversary in 2026, we are reinforcing our culture of excellence through a sustainable talent pipeline. The GBA Program develops analytical thinkers capable of transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive strategy and innovation,” Arorote added.
Participants in the GBA Program will gain immersive exposure to four core areas, Market and Industry Research, Data Collection and Analysis, Performance Monitoring and Reporting, and Stakeholder Management. The hands-on structure provides experience in financial modeling, strategic planning, and performance optimization across Sahara Group’s diverse business sectors from Upstream and Downstream Energy to Power, Infrastructure, Data, and Technology.
Applications for the 2025 GBA Program are open from October 20 to November 1, 2025. Through initiatives like the GBA, GMT, and GEP Programs, Sahara Group continues to position itself as a catalyst for Africa’s energy transformation, nurturing a new generation of innovators ready to lead the continent’s journey toward sustainable growth, digital intelligence, and global relevance.
